MD8 Startup Error

Ask about specific settings, like fabric properties, or the difference between the sewing tools. These would be things you would expect to see in a software manual.

MD8 Startup Error

Post by marble » Fri Mar 01, 2019 12:56 am

Hi. I'm a Newbie and I'm still trying to learn my way around MD8. I'm now concerned that I've broken something because I'm getting an error upon starting MD8 (every time). The error is "Failed to read the ZPrj file" and points to a project file "Untitled_MD.ZPrj". I can dismiss the error an continue but I worry that something is not right with the software.

I'll try to attach the error screenshot.

You can set MD up so that it opens a default project file on startup. I'm guessing that the project it is looking for doesn't exist, so it is throwing this error. It shouldn't hurt anything, so don't worry.

If you want to fix it go to Settings > User Settings > Default Files > Project File. Choose the location of a project that you want to open when you open MD. This should fix it.

Thanks Lori,

Saving a new default project was all that was needed.
