Unwanted bunching up of fabric

Ask about specific settings, like fabric properties, or the difference between the sewing tools. These would be things you would expect to see in a software manual.

Unwanted bunching up of fabric

Post by LeahJ159 » Sun Oct 29, 2017 3:12 pm

I've recently started learning Marvelous Designer and am trying to get a fairly basic shirt working. For some reason the fabric bunches up at the chest and shoulders and I'm not sure why. My understanding of patterns is next to none so any tweaking I've attempted hasn't given me the result I want. I'm trying to get the shirt to be loosely fitted over the torso like this:

The collar doesn't seem to be fitting well either and I'm not sure why?

I am super new to all of this so please forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to patterns etc. :)

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think your biggest problem might be line length. If you look at the segments that you are sewing together, it looks like they differ quite a bit. On the neckline you have a 226.5 on the front neck line and 217.8 on your collar/trim. If the segments sewn together are different lengths, it will pucker like that.
