New to making clothes for SL, having a problem with spikes in the fabric?
Hello,
I'm very new to MD and making clothes all together so please bear with me. I have been following this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1di8iIkDcE
So I finish all my sewing and then click simulate, and there are these spikes on the shoulders. On the tutorial there are no spikes and it's all flat. I've searched for a solution but haven't found one as of yet. I'm so greatful for any advice or help.
Thanks

Re: New to making clothes for SL, having a problem with spikes in the fabric?
Are you using a custom, imported avatar? If so, I would check the scale of the avatar. The clue lies in the spacing of those blue points (pressure point indicators). They say that the cloth mesh is very, very coarse for the scale of the avatar, which implies that the imported avatar is too small. A very coarse mesh acts more like folded cardboard than like cloth.
To do a very quick check of the scale, load one of the default avatars, then use the Import>Add avatar option to bring your figure into the scene. Are the two figures roughly the same size, or is one much bigger/smaller than the other? If so, then check the scaling factor when you exported the avatar from the original program, as well as the import scale when it came into MD. Make adjustments as necessary to bring the two figures into a comparable size.
