Re: Which texturing software is best for MD clothes?

Fantastic question, but I have no solution for you. I've used Substance, PS and AI just like you. I've also used Blender. It is time consuming and often does not produce the results you're after. It looks like you want real-world results, not just simple game textures. For the time being, I think yo...

Re: how to quantize rotation of avatar in 3D view?

Off the main top menu select Display > Viewpoint and then select a direction. You an also use the number keys as shortcuts. This allows you to move more precisely within the 3d window.

Another method is to right-click on the 3d window background. This also brings up the viewpoint options.

Good luck!

Re: Forum Registration Changes

Rosemary,
Why did you have to re-register? Your account should have been fine. The change was only for new forum members.

Forum Registration Changes

We got hit pretty hard with spam, which takes a long time for me to delete. I've changed the registration questions and also enabled email authentication. This means you have to enter a valid email address and respond to an email sent to that address by the forum before you can post for the first ti...

Re: How Do I Keep a Portion of My Mesh Flat After Simulation

The fabric is being stretched out of shape. First, I'd turn on the stress map and see if you have red. If those straps are pulling really hard, it will be difficult to get it to hold it's shape. Next, apply a different fabric to that shape. Set the Fabric preset to leather or something very stiff. T...

Re: how to remove red internal line

Your question didn't receive any comments because it is in the wrong place. Please ask these types of questions in the MD Technical / Software Questions and people are much more likely to respond. Hiding and showing isn't the best solution. Just use the edit tool, select the internal shape and hit d...

Re: Hello, doll pattern help please

That's a great first attempt in MD. If you want to see how well the fit is, use the garment Strain Map or Pressure Points (3D Window pull-out menu). The goal is to achieve a great fit without red points. I think I will probably revisit this later when my program is done. It would be nice to have som...

Re: Lori Your Book On Amazon

The book is out-of-print, so anyone with a copy is charging a ridiculous price. The books is seriously outdated at this point and not worth purchasing. I re-published the book online as a web-book. It gets updates when MD updates the software, so it is much better than a printed one. You can check i...

Re: Saving Avatar Pose

Well, my suggestion isn't going to work then. You've tried everything I would have. I definitely don't suggest posing your character in MD. That's a complete nightmare. Contrary to what most people think, I don't have a direct pipeline to the folks at MD. We don't have much of a relationship. You co...

Re: Hello, doll pattern help please

I think I will be able to help you with some of this. I'm working on a pattern drafting program that will create patterns off of measurements. It generates real world and MD patterns. I'm still in development, so you'll need to wait a bit on this one. I don't think you can use MakeHuman or Bastioni ...
