Re: Blender 2.83 + MD

Very nice. I did hundreds of garments for an online catalog using somewhat the same pipeline. I didn't have any animation, but I exported from MD to Blender and applied a SubD and Solidify there. Works like a charm.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Simulation Problem Between Sides

Did you make sure the fabric is the same for both? I'm guessing you checked this, but it is worth mentioning. The other thing is that you are working in quads. MD doesn't like quads. It gives you the ability to do them only for exporting to other programs when your final work is done. Change over to...

Re: Sewing Becomes Unstuck Near Edge

On the top image it appears that the entire small piece is sewn to an internal shape on the larger piece. For the second one, because part of the small piece is on the edge, you will need to sew the inner section to an internal line on the larger piece. Then you need to sew the edge of the small pie...

Re: Creating a foil sachet

Very interesting problem. I'm assuming that you're using Pressure to inflate the sachet. I did some testing and the pressure is applied to the entire pattern, regardless of the seams. I sewed the internal rectangles together and then left the edges unsewn, but the pressure is still there and causes ...

Re: selection issue on 3D pattern - related to avatar normals?

I had this problem a very long time ago with an imported avatar. I think it was Make Human at the time. I don't recall the fix, sorry.

Re: Create clohtes for games / PUBG ?

If it uses DAZ, then it definitely can be done. People have been using MD to make garments for DAZ characters for many years. It isn't nearly as easy as Sansar. There is a whole process involved.

There are a bunch of videos out there that show how to do it.

Re: can someone help me with this roll thingy?

Twists and knots are incredibly hard to do in MD, if you can do them at all. MD thinks that all twists and knots are unintentional so it will pull them out. There are some ways around it, but it is not easy.

Re: Re-position or Re-set UV map

If you go to UV Editor mode, you can right-click in the window and select either Fit UV to Unified (0-1) or Set UV from pattern alignment. Either of these will reset the pattern back from any adjustments you may have made.

Re: Move-grab hand on simulation

The hand you are describing should only display when the simulation is running. It is a hand icon with a blue dot. If you click and drag on fabric with the hand during simulation, it should pull on the fabric. It is just like grabbing the fabric in the real world. If that isn't happening, I'm not su...

Rosemary, Sorry about the word loss. We updated the forum and it has a very strict censorship list. I tried to thin it out, but I obviously missed some words. I'll remove those two words you tried to use. Let me know, if you find others. Mark Z, I love questions like yours. So few people actually tr...
