Re: How Do I Keep a Portion of My Mesh Flat After Simulation

The fabric is being stretched out of shape. First, I'd turn on the stress map and see if you have red. If those straps are pulling really hard, it will be difficult to get it to hold it's shape. Next, apply a different fabric to that shape. Set the Fabric preset to leather or something very stiff. T...

Re: how to remove red internal line

Your question didn't receive any comments because it is in the wrong place. Please ask these types of questions in the MD Technical / Software Questions and people are much more likely to respond. Hiding and showing isn't the best solution. Just use the edit tool, select the internal shape and hit d...

Re: Hello, doll pattern help please

That's a great first attempt in MD. If you want to see how well the fit is, use the garment Strain Map or Pressure Points (3D Window pull-out menu). The goal is to achieve a great fit without red points. I think I will probably revisit this later when my program is done. It would be nice to have som...

Re: Lori Your Book On Amazon

The book is out-of-print, so anyone with a copy is charging a ridiculous price. The books is seriously outdated at this point and not worth purchasing. I re-published the book online as a web-book. It gets updates when MD updates the software, so it is much better than a printed one. You can check i...

Re: Saving Avatar Pose

Well, my suggestion isn't going to work then. You've tried everything I would have. I definitely don't suggest posing your character in MD. That's a complete nightmare. Contrary to what most people think, I don't have a direct pipeline to the folks at MD. We don't have much of a relationship. You co...

Re: Hello, doll pattern help please

I think I will be able to help you with some of this. I'm working on a pattern drafting program that will create patterns off of measurements. It generates real world and MD patterns. I'm still in development, so you'll need to wait a bit on this one. I don't think you can use MakeHuman or Bastioni ...

Re: Saving Avatar Pose

Great explanation, thanks. I am familiar with DAZ somewhat. I used a few of their characters a long time ago as models in MD. I'm not entirely sure about this, but here are some ideas. Does your DAZ character have a skeleton (rig)? I have a feeling that the morph that takes place when you apply a po...

Re: Button-down gown won't button down properly, is it me?

When I have issues like this, I create an internal line offset from the edge the same distance you want your buttons. Then I sew those two lines together and simulate so the layering looks like it would if it were buttoned. Then I put the button and buttonholes on the patterns, delete the internal l...

Re: Saving Avatar Pose

Hi, I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to do. You have a couple options. Let's say that you have a character in an A pose and you want their arms down. You can do all your clothing in the A pose. Then you can use the Load as Morph Target with another OBJ of that character with their arms down....

Re: MD8 Startup Error

You can set MD up so that it opens a default project file on startup. I'm guessing that the project it is looking for doesn't exist, so it is throwing this error. It shouldn't hurt anything, so don't worry. If you want to fix it go to Settings > User Settings > Default Files > Project File. Choose t...
