Re: Stitching on top of a box pleat

If the pocket was actually box pleated, you could do it in one go, as it would be one pattern. As it is, you've got a pocket and then the separate "pleat" pattern. You'll have to split up the sewing of the patch. Use free sewing and sew the top and bottom of the patch to the "pleat" and then the out...

Re: Using for the first time and....nothing works

If this is a legal trial version of MD, you shouldn't be having these issues. You can use the reporting feature at the top right of the program to ask the MD team for help.

Re: How to make thick heavy cloth without many drapes

I don't know what is going on given the image you've attached. Your problems are not the fabric. A setting of wool or even leather would give you a nice stiff fabric, but I doubt that will fix these issues. I think you might be having problems with your avatar and collision settings. Try your garmen...

Re: Trace Patterns with UV Map

(I moved this post to a better category so it can help others.) There is no way that MD can automatically sew those pattern pieces like that. They would have to be sewn in the program. This video came from MD and I don't know why they would have skipped showing that step in the video, but they defin...

Re: WIP clothes for sci fi character

Nice padding work and I really like the articulation at the elbows. Reminds me of a motorcycle jacket.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Error Message: Mesh changed from quad to tri -how to fix this?

MD really likes tri's. The quad conversion is really only intended to be done at the end prior to export somewhere else. That said, you may want to contact MD with the issue button in the top right of the program and ask them what is going on. Make sure to come back here and share their response for...

Re: sport shoe in MD?

MD is really about cloth simulation. I would use something like Maya or Blender for footwear. I suspect that is why you aren't finding any tutorials.

Re: Fabric no draping right

MD is very accurate, so I'm not sure what is going on here. I created a simple dress and applied some presets to test. This is using a particle distance of 8. The hem is 25mm turned up to the inside and sewn to an internal line. The edge is another internal line with a fold strength of 32 and a fold...

Re: Importing MD object file to Blender error

I don't know what this error is. You should export from MD as an OBJ or FBX. Then in Blender you IMPORT the file. You don't just open it.

Re: How to remove doubles?

Are those internal lines? If so, you need to find another tutorial. That is not how Marvelous Designer is designed to work. The mesh density is defined by the the Particle Distance, which you can find in the Property Editor. Marvelous Designer is not like other 3D programs. You don't create the mesh...
