Re: exporting jeans to daz with visible decorative seams?

Sewing line types are really all about the Fold Angle of the sewn seam. Fold Angle is also a component of internal lines and that is really the easiest way to illustrate the concept. When you sew two patterns together that surround the body, like a t-shirt (both patterns facing the same way, away fr...

Re: Substance Painter?

I just had my first intro to Substance Painter by entering their MD / SP David & Diana contest. It is powerful software. Where are you taking your model after creating the textures? Are you going from MD to Substance to Unity? Or maybe out to Blender for renders or animation? I can probably work up ...

Re: how to make morph targets in MD for Daz

Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it. I'm afraid I don't do DAZ, so I'm no help there. Hopefully someone will chime in to help you.

Re: exporting jeans to daz with visible decorative seams?

I'm not a DAZ person, but I'll try to help. Stitches in MD are individual OBJ objects. The seams you see in the 3D window in MD are created with normal maps. You'll have to apply texture maps in DAZ to get the same affect, I think.

Re: BforArtists (Blender alternative)

That's great. Thanks for sharing.

I believe that the UI for Blender is getting a major overhaul for the upcoming release. They are suppose to make it easier for people new to Blender or those that don't use it often.

We'll see how that works out.

Double-Sided Surface Replacement

The previous version of MD had a feature called Double-Sided surface that you could apply to collars, like a turtleneck, so that the back (wrong) side of the fabric was not gray. Since that feature has been removed, have any of you found another way to fix this? You can apply a Back color to the fab...

Re: Free MD 7.5 Features Course

Instructors live and die by those reviews, so Udemy prompts for them all the time. Way too soon in the viewing, in my opinion.

I'm glad you like the Udemy interface. I make virtually no money from my courses over there, but it is good exposure.

Re: Transfering two Separate Patterns from Two Separate Projects

You now have the ability to open multiple instances of Marvelous Designer. Open MD with one project and another instance of MD with a different project. You can copy and paste between MD instances from one project to the other.

Free MD 7.5 Features Course

I just realized that I didn't tell anyone here about the course I created for 7.5 upgrade features. It's available over on Udemy for free. Make sure to take advantage of it!
