Re: Workflow to bring a garment into SL

You can add as many steps to the workflow as desire. Yes, you can retopo it if you like, not everyone does from the mesh clothing I have seen in SL. MD now has a quad function you can use to convert tris to quads but, it still requires work in your favorite modeling software or, did the last time I ...

Congratz, Ms. Authoress!

I know you worked hard on this book and had several trials and tribulations in the process. :-) I hope you sell many copies!

Re: MD6 CLOSED Beta announced

Hey Rosemayr! I hope the summer is treating you well and not too hot. LOL...Yes, I pretty much have to edit the buttons & holes into place...is why I think a grid on the actual pieces themselves is a good idea ...even with editing, straight and myself are just at odd with one another. My elementary ...

Re: MD6 CLOSED Beta announced

I played around with the button feature a little last night but need to do a bit more testing. I need to find some way to keep the buttons and holes straight...I can't make things straight to save my soul! I wish they would add a grid option in the simulations window for that. I guess I could do it ...

Re: UV Mapping

There are numerous groups in SL, such as Blender for Beginners, Builders Brewery, Avastar, Marvelous Designer, etc. and most in the group are learning like you and I. Some are a bit more advanced some are just beginning. As with most groups in SL, I think people participate and share what they feel ...

Re: UV Mapping

Hello :) First of all I am really glad I have found this forum, exactly what I have been looking for for ages. Anyone, I am new to all this and learning like mad right now with blender and would like to know how people actually make their textures. Some textures are really in-depth, where you see e...

Re: Shabby Chic Baby Bed/Crib Work In Progress

That looks great Morgaine. It's interesting that something that doesn't seem that complex uses so many techniques and programs to accomplish. Creating assets for Second Life seems like a lot of work. It looks like you have it figured out well. Actually, I could of used Blender entirely to create th...

Re: Export Garments

It looks like I have same issue. I don't understand how i can apply my texture image. Texture files saved in zip archive with obj, but i see white parts after i have imported this file in Daz3d or Blender( What is my mistake? If you have it textured/colored, I usually export with the "Save With Met...

Shabby Chic Baby Bed/Crib Work In Progress

I wanted to share something I am currently working on via multiple programs. This baby bed/Crib was something I created for an in-game Second Life asset using Mesh Studio (in-game product for creating mesh and to avoid dealing with Blender's less than optimal texturing function), Blender for tweaks ...
